Post Doctoral Fellowship
Comprehensive Clinical Training with Specialized Opportunities in Couples Therapy and Relationship Issues
New York City | Private Practice Setting
About the Fellowship
Our Postdoctoral Fellowship offers early-career psychologists the opportunity to develop their clinical expertise, gain confidence as independent practitioners, and establish their professional identity in a supportive Manhattan private practice setting.
The fellowship provides comprehensive training in individual psychotherapy across a diverse range of presenting concerns, with additional opportunities to develop specialized expertise in couples therapy, attachment, and relationship issues.
Our goal is to help fellows become well-rounded, thoughtful, and confident clinicians while encouraging them to develop their own areas of clinical interest.
Clinical Experience
Fellows will have the opportunity to work with a diverse range of clients navigating concerns such as:
Anxiety, depression, and mood-related difficulties
Stress, burnout, and professional challenges
Life transitions, identity, and self-esteem
Trauma and emotional regulation difficulties
Family conflict and interpersonal challenges
Dating, attachment, and romantic relationship concerns
Grief, loss, and adjustment difficulties
Perfectionism and achievement-related pressures
Individual psychotherapy is a central component of the fellowship. We encourage fellows to develop a strong foundation in treating a broad range of psychological concerns rather than focusing exclusively on any single specialty.
Specialized Training in Couples and Relationship Issues
A distinctive feature of our fellowship is the opportunity to develop expertise in understanding and treating relationship difficulties.
Fellows will receive training in areas including:
Attachment theory and adult relationships
Communication difficulties and recurring conflict
Emotional intimacy and connection
Infidelity, betrayal, and rebuilding trust
Relationship anxiety and insecurity
Family-of-origin influences on romantic relationships
The intersection of individual mental health and relationship functioning
Training incorporates perspectives from Emotionally Focused Therapy (EFT), the Gottman Method, psychodynamic psychotherapy, and other evidence-based relational approaches.
Supervision and Professional Development
We believe effective supervision should help psychologists develop both clinical expertise and confidence in their professional judgment.
Fellows will receive individualized mentorship focused on case conceptualization, treatment planning, therapeutic interventions, and professional growth.
Our integrative approach draws from cognitive behavioral, psychodynamic, attachment-based, and relational therapies.
In addition to clinical supervision, fellows will gain exposure to the practical aspects of private practice, including developing a caseload, managing referrals, navigating professional boundaries, and establishing a sustainable clinical career.
Who Should Apply?
We welcome applications from doctoral-level psychologists (PhD or PsyD) who have completed, or will complete, their predoctoral internship before beginning the fellowship.
Ideal candidates are:
Interested in working with a diverse individual psychotherapy caseload
Curious about relationships, attachment, and interpersonal dynamics
Open to integrative and evidence-based treatment approaches
Committed to thoughtful supervision and continued professional growth
Interested in developing their clinical identity within a private practice setting
We welcome applicants interested primarily in individual psychotherapy, as well as those hoping to develop a specialization in couples and relationship issues.
